An IBC tote straight from the supplier handles the basics of liquid storage and dispensing, but the right accessories can significantly enhance functionality, protect the container, and improve operational efficiency. From replacement valves and adapters to protective covers and dispensing aids, the IBC accessories market offers solutions for virtually every application challenge.

At Grand Rapids IBC, we stock a full range of accessories for all standard IBC totes. Here is a rundown of the most popular and most useful accessories we sell.

Replacement Valves

Valves are wear items that should be replaced regularly. We stock butterfly valves, ball valves, and camlock-integrated valves in 2-inch NPS threading to fit all standard IBCs. Butterfly valves are the standard replacement at $15 to $25 each. Ball valves offer better flow control for viscous materials at $25 to $45 each. Having spare valves on hand means you can replace a worn valve immediately instead of taking the IBC out of service.

Adapters and Fittings

IBC adapters allow you to connect hoses, pumps, and other dispensing equipment to the valve outlet. The most common adapters include camlock fittings, garden hose thread adapters, and reducer fittings for connecting to smaller hose sizes. We also carry S75x6 to 2-inch NPS adapters for the fill opening, which allow you to install different cap types or connect filling equipment.

  • Camlock adapters (Types A, B, C, D): Quick-connect for hose and pump attachment
  • Garden hose thread (GHT) adapters: Connect standard garden hoses to the IBC valve
  • Reducer fittings: Step down from 2-inch to 3/4-inch or 1-inch outlets
  • Fill opening adapters: S75x6 thread adapters for custom cap and vent configurations
  • Y-connectors: Split the valve output into two separate lines

Dust Caps and Covers

Dust caps protect the valve outlet from contamination, debris, and insect intrusion when the IBC is not in active use. Fill opening covers and vented caps prevent rainwater and contaminants from entering through the top. For outdoor storage, full IBC covers or UV-blocking wraps protect the entire container from sunlight, rain, and temperature extremes.

Gaskets and Seals

Gaskets for both the valve connection and the fill opening are consumable items that should be inspected and replaced regularly. We carry EPDM, Viton, and PTFE gaskets to match different chemical compatibility requirements. EPDM is the standard choice for most applications. Viton offers superior chemical resistance for aggressive solvents. PTFE provides universal compatibility and is required for some food-grade applications.

Dispensing Accessories

For applications where gravity dispensing from the valve is not sufficient, we carry electric and manual pumps designed for IBC use. Drum pumps with extended tubes can reach to the bottom of an IBC through the fill opening, allowing you to pump out the last few gallons that gravity flow cannot reach. Flow meters can be added inline for measuring dispensed volumes.
